Past:
I have always been very close to the same group of friends even when I was younger. A few years ago my parents told me that we were moving to Michigan because my father’s job was transferring him. I was devastated because I loved where I lived and my friends. When I moved it was over the summer and that whole summer I felt empty. I did not want to give my new home a chance so I stayed inside most of the summer. My parents like to walk so one day I decided to go with them. That day changed my life forever. I meet a girl who helped me feel like I belonged there and helped me fit in. The two years that I lived in Michigan I had the opportunity to babysit two children with the girl that changed my life. I was a little nervous the first time I babysat but when I left I could not wait to go back. I enjoyed playing with the kids and taking care of them. I was sad the day I stopped babysitting those kids. From moving away to a place that I never thought I would fit in I found the courage to accept a change into my life and from that change I learned something new about myself, that I love working with children and that its ok to let new experiences into your life.
Present:
When I applied to college I applied as undeclared. I applied undeclared because I was afraid to declare an education major. A lot of people told me I was dumb for going into education because education people are having problems getting jobs around the area I live. My first year of college I took different courses to see if I liked something else. I was so undeceive, one minute I wanted to go into business, and the next I wanted to go into communication. My mind was all over the place because I tried so hard to avoid declaring education. One day I got so frustrated with being undeceive that I decided I was not going to let others influence my decision so I declared education. I knew being a teacher was right for me because every time children are around me I am always happy. I have been in the education program for one semester so far and I am completely in love with all of my education classes. Future:
Educators get a great opportunity in life. That opportunity is having the privilege to educated someone and inspire them to do their best. On my first day of being a teacher I picture a class filled with children wondering who I am. I cannot wait to introduce myself to my first set of children and inspire them to be themselves. I will always tell my class how important it is to follow your own dreams and to not be scared of what comes next in life. If you are scared of what comes next in your life, like I was when I moved to Michigan I would have never meet the girl who changed my life. Also if you do not follow your own dreams you could end up feeling frustrated like I was during my first year of college. Becoming a teacher is very powerful because you are able to impact many children in your career and that is why I want to become a teacher.
